When should you take seeking care more seriously?
Some symptoms need faster assessment; their severity, persistence, and associated symptoms are important.
- Chest pain or severe shortness of breath — If sudden, severe, or accompanied by sweating, profound weakness, or fainting, call 115 immediately.
- Bleeding or black stools — Rectal bleeding, black stools, or vomiting blood should be assessed immediately; for severe symptoms, call 115.
- Rapid worsening of general condition — Confusion, reduced consciousness, sudden weakness, or swelling with shortness of breath requires emergency evaluation.
