When should you take seeking care more seriously?
Some signs require more prompt evaluation and should not be managed through self-treatment alone.
- Black stools or blood in the stool — These can have different causes, but especially when accompanied by weakness, dizziness, or abdominal pain, they should be assessed promptly; call 115 in a severe or sudden situation.
- Repeated or bloody vomiting — If it is accompanied by inability to keep fluids down, severe pain, or a feeling of fainting, seeking urgent care is important.
- Unexplained weight loss or difficulty swallowing — These signs require medical evaluation, particularly if they persist or worsen.
