When should you take seeking care more seriously?
A single sign is not a diagnosis; its persistence, severity, and effect on daily life matter.
- Effect on daily functioning — When a child's situation at home, school, with friends, or in self-care is disrupted, assessment may be helpful.
- Persistent or worsening changes — A lasting change in mood, sleep, appetite, interests, or behavior needs attention, especially if it is becoming more severe.
- Immediate danger — If there is a possibility of harm to self or others, or a crisis situation, call 115 immediately.
