When should you take seeking care more seriously?
Heart-related symptoms can take different forms. Their cause cannot be diagnosed without an examination and assessment.
- Sudden or severe symptoms — Take chest pain or pressure, shortness of breath, cold sweating, severe weakness, or sudden fainting seriously. If symptoms are severe, new, or persistent, call 115.
- Symptoms returning after a procedure — Chest pain or shortness of breath after angioplasty or stent placement requires prompt contact with the care team or emergency assessment, depending on symptom severity.
- Noticeable change in exercise capacity — Report reduced exercise tolerance, new or worsening shortness of breath, and a feeling of pressure during activity for medical assessment.
