When should you take seeking care more seriously?
Some signs need more prompt assessment; do not ignore symptoms that are severe or persistent.
- Severe or uncontrolled bleeding — If bleeding is severe, does not stop, or occurs with severe weakness, fainting, or shortness of breath, call 115 immediately.
- Extensive bruising and unusual bleeding — Discuss repeated unexplained bruising, prolonged nosebleeds, or gum bleeding with a doctor for medical assessment.
- Fever, recurrent infections, or unintended weight loss — These symptoms, especially when accompanied by changes in blood tests or swollen glands, require medical assessment.
